Just wanted to thank Pastor and Mrs. Ray Haskett of Calvary Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, VA for a great missions conference and for their generous and caring spirit. Our entire family were thrilled to be with this great church family for their conference and we had a great time praising the Lord, sharing our passion for Greeks to come to Christ, and enjoying some sweet fellowship. I also accepted the Pastor’s challenge and ate a baloot egg. If you don’t know what it is, Google it. It wasn’t that bad actually and I usually don’t eat chicken eggs let alone duck eggs. Eating that egg helped me realize the truth of I Corinthians 9:19 which states, “For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.” I wasn’t under any obligation to eat that egg, but I wanted to show them that I appreciated their culture and the zeal they had for something they learned to enjoy from being on the mission fields of Asia. When we reach Greece, our job is not to attempt to change their culture or thinking but rather to embrace it. Our job is to introduce them to Jesus Christ and allow the Holy Spirit to work in their lives and shape the future of their culture. Honestly, I feel a little closer to those folks this morning because I ate that egg. I was glad I had the opportunity to show them how much I appreciate them simply by choking down a half-cooked duckling… go figure.
Thanks and Praise

I just looked up Baloot egg. You are a much bigger man than I am Charlie Brown. There is no way I would ever do that.
I’m glad to see that deputation seems to be going strong and successfully. Have you established your current percentage yet? God Bless!
I must admit that I haven’t had you in my prayers up until now but I will from now on. I just didn’t think of it.
We still haven’t established our new site as you have with this one but hopefully in the near future. That is why I came visiting, to take another look to see what yours looked like.
