About Us

We are the DeLuca family, called by God to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of Greece. Our story is one of God’s grace and providence that continues to be written day by day as God leads us along the deputation trail to Greece. It is our prayer that each and every person that visit’s these pages will recognize God’s unmistakable hand upon our lives and ministry and pray that He will provide for our needs so that we may begin the work we are called to in Greece.

My name is Michael DeLuca, the “under-shepherd” of our family flock. My wife Joanna, our four children and I have been blessed with the unique opportunity to go to the otherwise closed country of Greece with the Gospel. As the Greek Orthodox Church is the official state religion of Greece, the country does not grant long-term visas for missionary work. However, because of Joanna’s heritage, she and our children have the privilege of Greek citizenship, which allows permanent residency for our family. It is our firm belief that God has directed our family into the ministry for the purpose of reaching the Greek people for Christ. God has allowed us to visit Greece three times and has knit our hearts with faithful ministry partners there. Through many years of preparation in Bible college and ministry, we are ready “for such as a time as this”.

An Akropolis View of Athens- 4 Million Souls in Need of the Gospel

We invite you to look past the natural beauty and cultural history of Greece and see the dire need the people have for Jesus Christ. Our family verse, II Corinthians 1:24 states, “Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.” This verse perfectly captures our goal of leading Greeks to a saving faith in Jesus Christ by standing upon His promises, that their joy might be complete. Would you please uphold us in prayer as we endeavor, as did the Apostle Paul at Mars Hill, to declare Jesus Christ to the people of Greece? Thank you and may God bless you.

  4. We came across your website today while looking for information on Greece. We are studying Greece this week in our home school week. I wanted you to know we will be praying for you and your family this week.:)

  5. Hi there, my husband and I both feel we have been called to missions but we’re still not sure in which capacity. We have been doing short term trips to learn about different places, issues, people etc all over the globe. We will be coming to Athens in May on a short term trip and wanted to see if you ever have short term missionaries come to help you through out the year? My husband learned about you through a friend and we truly appreciate your statement of faith and what you believe. We have struggled finding missionaries or mission groups who have a firm statement of faith and stick to it. Thank you for your time and your service to His Kingdom.

We just got caught up on your ministry and prayed for your family during our evening devotions!

    • Thank you for keeping us in your prayers. I need to update the webpage as often as I do the Facebook page. You can find us there on two pages- @GrecoMissions and for our new Hope Christian Center- @Elpida4U
Because of the stringent laws in place here regarding starting a non-orthodox church, we started a nonprofit company under the Hope Christian Center which we are transitioning to Hope Baptist Church. Thanks again for praying! Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
